Hogmanay Approaches

2007 has gone too fast:

Speedy Roundup -
  • Taking The Leap was published in APRIL 2007! Yey!
  • Short story Night To Remember published in Candis.
  • Pregnant and growing bigger for the first six months of 2007! Oh yeah am I glad to be out of maternity jeans.
  • Esme born two weeks late - enter cutio babe and sleepless nights.
  • Eldest daughter adopted and goes from strength to shining, shouting, crazily running around the house in a flurry of bracelets and handbags strength!
  • Discovered the writerly joy of ALPHASMART - and boy do I love my Alphie (in fact wouldn't manage to write a word without it!)
  • Tinker our lovely cat died - sad.
  • Sipping Bliss rejected by MnB (a bit crestfallen but good R so don't blub!)
  • New WIP on the go after a long time with little writing progress of note!

Hopes for the new year

  • To make time to write and FINISH projects!
  • To not give up the Mills and Boon publication dream quite yet.
  • To make time for craft and composting and writer's rest too.
  • To relish every divine moment of my little girls - it just goes so fast!
  • To stay away from EBAY - it's just a fancy looking 'big girl's post office set' plaything crafted by the devil's own hand.
  • To start yoga again (though with babe around I doubt I'll get the chance!)
  • To stop buying ultra cute pink baby clothes - she grows too fast.
Here's wishing you all health, happiness, smiles, cuddles and lot and lots of good times in 2008!

Writing...

Just wanted to say that the word worm is growing again. Phew.
I am still going on this story...and the partial is now virtually polished and syno done.
So it may not be as fast as I'd like - but it's progress. And progress is good.
On another note - went to the Jan sales today with eldest daughter.
Log jam, crowds, rude people, lotsa pushing and shoving (bah!) Not half as satisfying as bichok.

Merry Christmas One And All

We're all set. The baby has gone to bed dressed as a Christmas pudding.
Ah Christmas magic.

So enjoy, indulge and if you haven't already had enough of the pre Christmas 'Yule pop tunes' vibe weather some more Wham.

And if you're a romantic at heart, in between the turkey and mince pies ponder...on the real meaning of Christmas.

Go grab some mistletoe and pucker up. Merry Christmas.

SWOOOOOOOOOON

I was standing in Sainsbury's at the till today (as you do) and suddenly my eyes flicked up to the book cover right beside the magazines - and I nearly melted into a pool of lust. Look at it. I mean gorgeous with big bling diamante knobs on....

God Gerry Butler just cannot get anymore fundamentally SUBLIME. And I am seriously wishing he could be on the cover of my book (in my dreams!) Maybe I should write a letter to Santa?

And if I ever come back as someone else's earlobe. I want it to be Hilary Swank's in the picture. Talk about made to make your mouth water gg

Eureka moment

I've had a bit of a eureka moment in my writing (amazing what an enforced week or so off from the WIP can do!)

A good writing friend and Harl author gave me some gold-dust advice on what to focus right in on and these tips have really helped on the current 'early stages' WIP.

Yesterday I had a fresh read and a fresh edit and could see all my old tendencies to 'flick on the wit' instead of 'digging deep on the goals and motivations' and sticking to plain talking for punch. What an amazing revelation it was.

I've learned the following lessons -
  • sometimes I get too caught up in trying to impress an editor that I forget to just tell the story
  • one gem of unique voice speaks volumes and pulls the reader in. Too many and you're losing the flow so use sparingly for punch
  • think character arcs in every single chapter - it's how to keep the conflict and pace on track
  • the alpha male is all. Get him on the page and make he and the heroine's world your own.

So after cutting - it's a much better piece of writing. I can totally see what the editor has been getting at. I've also had a real splurge on the conflicts of the H and h.

Big lesson learned.

Progress. Slow but steady progress.

ROFL!

If you haven't already - please visit this FESTIVE WEBSITE.

If like me you're easily distracted you can while away the day by uploading pix of your nearest and dearest and transforming them into dancing Xmas elves. The most fun that can be had - well EVER.

And I won't share the one I've done of me and CP Nat looking like Elfettes on an Xmas Eve pub crawl. Some things are best kept to oneself.

Go do it and laugh til your insides ache!

Esme on the up

Check out babe-a-lina. She's pulling, pulling, pulling and sometimes sitting up. It's scary.

Hallelujah for safety reins.

Oh brother. We're weaning right now too.

And I suspect we're in for trouble when the crawling starts. Which feels like it could be sooner than I thought.

Babies. Sheesh.

Anyone for tennis?

Erm. The writing is still going strong. 13000 words kinda strong.

It's a bit like a flood after a drought. I just can't stop it and I'm drowning in words. In fact I've finished the partial.

But worry not. I'll probably read it back and think it's utter PANTS.

So I don't intend to read it at all yet. Or tinker too much. I'm plodding right on and getting it down as far as I can. Because that way I won't get waylaid and paranoid. I'm crossing fingers I can type The End on this one.

Right now the hero has just invited the heroine to go watch tennis. When in reality the only kind of tennis he's interested in is the tonsil variety.

That was a terrible pun. But hey - if you can't do it on your own blog, what hope is there people?!

Laters.

Aherm!

10,500 words.

That's all I'm saying. No braggin. Just fact. The story is panning out.
A partial is on the horizon - yee ha!

ps Thank you my lovely CP. You rock!
pps Esme slept for a full complete 5 hours session last night. Could life be better?

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

Well Wha da ya know!

I've written 8000 words.

Shocked - me too! That's what a detailed letter from an editor can achieve - BICHOK. Actually its BIBHOK in my case (butt in bed - with alphasmart - hands on keys). I'm aiming for at least 500 a night (she said wistfully)but so far I've done better.

Anyway Baby E has been a bit of a 'no sleep scamp' lately so the aspirations may not come to much. Here's hoping she sleeps more when weaning kicks in.

As for the story - it's an office romance involving Grant and Neesha. And I'm enjoying their banter so far. But also on a steep learning curve to SLOW DOWN and sit on my hands with the wit a bit more.

Not easy for a dyed in the wool word pun spitter like me - but I'm trying hard. If anyone has tips for how to slow the pace - I'd love to hear em... Oh and I'll leave you with a wee pic of a handsome chef I stumbled on and am using as inspiration for the wip. Introducing Matt Tebbutt. Calm down girls - in real life this one is married. Boo hoo. But as inspiration goes - he's doing just grand. :)

Wallowing

I'm wallowing but it's allowed.

I got a R on the mss that's been with MnB Modern Extra since the turn of the year.

It's a good R.

But it's still an R.

I will pick myself up and sock it to them - I promise.

But for now I'm wallowing. And indulging in divine pics of Gerry Butler.

Hurrah For Hubby

Daddy did the business (hurrah for SUPERDAD) - he found the much sought after dolly in Tesco Direct in Edinburgh when he popped in for a sandwich! Well done Dad. And thanks (Nell) for the offer to look.

Apparently a Chou Chou went for £75 on ebay at the weekend. Lucky for me we haven't had to resort to buying one at auction.

And daughter will never ever know the bother we've had (two internet orders that went wrong and a fruitless round trip to Dundee and back during peak Saturday mayhem). The things we have to do...

Desperately Seeking Chou Chou

Okay - I'm about to rant.

It's not even mid November and I'm in Xmas gift crisis. Why I hear you enquire?

Baby Chou Chou dagnamit!

Daughter No 1 wants the must have doll this season - Chou Chou Mummy Make Me Better. It's a strange doll that gets bruises you heal (don't even go there - yes it's a mad Munchausen-esque idea) but she will not be budged. We've tried softly persuading but to no avail - she's even mumering Chou Chou in her sleep. And Chou Chou is as hard to get as an Alpha Male at a Village People Concert.
Tho doll should be called Chou Chou Sent Mummy Crazy Trying To Locate Xmas Gift. I'm perplexed but persevering.

Chant the mantra with me - I will not pay double on ebay. I will not be suckered.
Must go. I must press on with the search...

Congrats Nat!

Check out my CP Nat's blog...she's got news on her two latest up and coming releases. See pics.

Nice aren't they? And my ultimate fave is Mistress Under Contract - A1 hero, fabuloso sexy. A must, must, must buy read that just makes me ultra proud to have been involved and got a sneaky peek read.

Congrats Nat. You're on a roll....

Magnifique!

Check of Phillipa Ashley's blog - she's got mega news (and it involves Hollywood). Too cool.
Here's a pic of Harry Hill (a Brit comedy person I'm rather fond of). You've Been Framed has never been funnier thanks to his sassy narration - Harry, we salute you!

Esme By The Ouse

We're back and York was lovely - nice walks by the river Ouse (see pic).

Also featured is new ultra short hairdo. A dramatic cut (hey there's even a red flash at the side) - but it showers and styles like a dream.

I'm officially in the submission doldrums. No news, and it feels like it's been forver. They say no news, is good news - but waiting, waiting, waiting really does suck. jx

Thanks

Thanks for all the kind, uplifting comments.

Although it was all a shock on Saturday, I'm coming to terms with it and she's saved more pain.

Right now I'm off to get my hair chopped off - embracing the hair loss and my inability to find time for hair styling with two kids. We're off for a clan gathering in York this weekend - where Esme is sure to get much bouncing and passing around between rellies. These days she gives us full blown gusty laughs, v endearing.

Toodle-loo.

To A Friend

We had to say goodbye to a beloved friend today. Tinker. She's been with us eight years and brought us a lot of happiness. Before adoption and a new baby we only had our cats and we've loved and spoiled them like the babies they were when we picked them up from a London cat welfare centre (as tiny balls of mewing fur).

But this morning, in common, with her brother who died two years ago, she suffered a cat stroke that paralysed both back legs. She was in lots of distress. We've seen and battled with this before with Tuppence who suffered two attacks so we knew the signs weren't good. Today we had to make a tough choice with Tinker.

She was more than a pet and a special cat. She was a loyal friend. Words can't describe how much I am missing her.
So to my own wee treasure Tinker, thank you and I love you dearly.

Jinxed

I think I've been jinxed:
Computer went on fire (though we did rescue the hard drive). Have just purchased a lovely new one a la John Lewis (Windows Vista here I come)
Fridge freezer went strange - had to buy a new one (ugh - expensive)
Because I'm computerless forgot to renew my web domain (double ugh). It's now sorted
All the family have a hideous cough (baby too). Right now she's sleeping soundly. Here's hoping it improves or we're doctor bound tomorrow.

Now lookie here fate gremlins - no more jinxing! jx

Meltdown...

Erk I'm having a computer meltdown. Correction - bro set my pc on fire whilst trying to mend it. So, if I'm offline please excuse me - no internet connection 'til I go computer shopping.

Boo hoo. jx

Three things...

Three things made me smile today.

First - the weather, it's gloriously sunny! Like a scorcher June day and yet it's October first. Go figure?

Second - whilst uploading pix I saw this one of Esme dressed up for taking big daughter to nursery. Puff baby the hip hop legend.

Third - watching big daughter riding her tractor round the garden in the sunshine. Wearing a mini skirt and glass slippers. That's one kick ass Cinderella in training lol.

BICHOKs-ville

Don't even ask. I'm writing again and no I won't put a word worm up because I'm flitting around like a hussy never lingering with one project for long enough to be considered a writer of any fidelity at all!!

But I just had to post another pic of Adrian Pasdar. Because he's my TYCOON hero right now and man is he GOOOOOOOOOOD! Loving it. jx

Will it ever end? My pillow has more hair than I have.

Limahl - Never Ending Story

Whilst waltzing with the baby today (yep apparently it's good for her to waltz) I was reminded of how much I love this tune and how I miss the special friend (you know who you are LOB) who loved it as much as me....

Enjoy!

Yo Yo Baby

Babies are strange...

Two weeks ago I was 'a frettin' cos Esme only put on 12 ounces in a whole month (picture me consulting centile charts and checking Dr Google like a mad woman!!) Then yesterday at the clinic she goes and puts on a whole 13 and a half in just two weeks. How so??

Is she a tiny trickster in disguise, secretly giggling at 'weight worry wart mother'??

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Naughty.

Kwikie Christening Pics

Thanks for the Christening wishes - and due to popular demand (lol) here's a couple of pics. Sadly (much as I'd love to post her pic) I can't put in the ones of my biggest daughter in her beautiful Monsoon muslin dress. There's legal/anonymity reasons (if you've read Taking The Leap you'll catch my drift). But suffice to say - she looked lovely and she did very well being baptised as a big girl so we were really proud! Here's pics of Grandma and Esme and mad parents and baby in robe!

P.S. We're still eating the cake. It's rather good with a nice cuppa Rosy Lea.

P.P.S. Check out Pure Passion Awards - and vote for writing pal of mine Phillipa Ashley! Her book deserves loadsa votes! Go Pip.

Special Day

Today both my girls were baptised. We feel blessed and very grateful.

Esme is in her cot early tonight after a very exciting day (while big daughter is still going strong!) And so...to bed. With a thankful heart.

Candis

My short story - A Night To Remember - can be found in this month's CANDIS magazine.

It's about the trials and tribulations of a fancy dress hen night.

Plus there's Lorraine Kelly (nice lady) and a free craft book for readers. What are you waiting for? Go subscribe and get yours (and they're a charitable magazine too!)

Babydays

Tried to resist posting these... Titled: the highs...

...and the lows of babycare.

(She's a poppet really - I don't even mind the crying! And I'm loving the 'goooooooo/gurgle' conversations that go on and on and on....)

Just to confuse the issue...

OMG. I've just gone and written a first chapter of a new project (well one that lurked half done on computer but still). 2000 words.

I need a new worm now. Just to confuse things.

Saturday, September 01, 2007

Yes!

Yesterday, between feeds and the various Mummy duties that constitute my life, I happened to switch on Good Morning whilst hoovering (it's a heady whirl this world of mine!)

Anyway - cut to interesting bit - ages ago I was addicted to a prog on Hallmark called Judging Amy which I particulary 'dug'. Reasons: the judge Amy was kinda cool, with great ethics and it was nice to see her struggling with romantic and 'mummy' problems just like your regular Joe or Josephine! In addition - the love interest man candy was JUST DIVINE but alas - I could never manage to find out his name or get any pics to blog about.

Jude cuts back to Good Morning on TV: there sat my dreamboat lawyer guy from Judging Amy on the sofa chatting to Eamon Holmes. His name is Adrian Pasdar and he's married to a Dixie Chick (ain't they always!) And he's still scrummy as he ever was.

Enjoy...oh and feel free to score him out of ten if you're so inclined! Personally - he's my nine and a half.

Wednesday, August 29, 2007

Ack

I'm annoyed. Cos I want to write and crack on with Morven but I've no 'me' windows right now to do it. (I'm taking solace in reading Wish You Were Here - fab - between feeds and 'Mum - can I?' requests). It's playgroup this afternoon so hopefully I'll be less exhausted and maybe squeeeeeeeze in some writing tonight before last feed. The trials of mummyhood!

I've also noticed that I'm having to do more editing in this project. I'm putting it down to last year's lack of regular writing time (skills are rusty as a result). I'm tending to overwrite and so I'm going back to cut for pace. Strange. Just goes to show that regular bichoking is great at working out the writing muscles.

Baby has discovered sucking her hands. She loves to eat them whole with no side order and lots of relish. Even now the sound of lip smacking can be heard from her baby swing as she dreams into space.

I wish I had more time to write.

Progress report

Still Morven plods on.
But super sharp CP has put me right on track again. So I’m firing up again for more words tonight.

Today’s word count 9017
Previous 8055
It’s slow progress but tortoise and hare etc etc etc
Webfetti.com

Jess kindly asked for details and so far I'm aiming it as a medical romance. This wasn't the initial plan but somehow I just got lured in again by hunky Scots doctors...say no more. I'm not sure if aiming at Meds is an unwise move since I've already had a request from a Snr Ed for another line, but I'm going with my inclination to write a med (and anyway I already have a sub with the editor and if it bombs it bombs!) So that's the plan and this time I've some intentions to get pro crit done before I submit primarily because I figure I've had several detailed letters from editors now so I need more indepth help before I put the baby in the post. Well, that's the plan!

Baby is fitting in clothes size 3 to 6 months. She’s ahead of her game!

I'm eagerly buying up summer clothes in one year old sizes in the sales for baby for our holiday next year. Just call me canny. Can't wait. Seriously desperate for relaxation and sun.

In other news I’m eagerly awaiting Wish You Were Here by Phillipa Ashley in Little Black Dress. It’s out and I’m getting mine soon – hurry. Hurry. Visit her website to buy yours.

Nell Rocks!

Fellow Moonlit Romance Author Nell Dixon has some stellar news of late - and very very very well deserved (I'm a big fan and can't wait for the promised LBD books).

Yey Nell. Go go go!

In other news Morven's wordcount is slowly going up and my fabby CP is having a read. Cue a moment of quiet contentment (sigh).

Morven...

A wee whiley ago I blogged pics of Kate Beckinsale and her hubbie. They're my 'working inspiration' for Morven Sinclair and hero Eddie Tulloch.

I like Kate because she looks the part. Chic but sassy and approachable looking. She looks like the kind of woman you want to be friends with. She's also naturally a stunner (which helps as inspiration for any romance heroine!)
While Ed is dark, brooding...with an edge. At first he presents as hard, almost distant. He has his reasons but they're very much hidden from public view.

Their story kicks off with each of them making realisations about their futures and bumping into each other in tricky circumstances.

So far I'm not finished the partial...but I'm getting there.

Double Rainbow

I love rainbows. This week we had a double one that spanned the whole sky right outside our house.

Funnily enough it's been a week of lovely family stuff. A special birthday party, a trip to the beach, a day out at the funfair. All good. And a double rainbow to top it off.

Monday, August 13, 2007

Squee!

Today's a busy day so I'm blogging early. Got to have my pics taken (sounds very authorly but it's not). They're family group pics of my babies, the old man and me. But still fun.

Even better news. The book is panning out in head.

And there's visual inspiration. Here's a teaser...more soon...

Writing...

Got a bit done...14.8%. It's progress, so I'm not knocking it. And Chapter One is there. Oh and I've got a title. As I said progress.

Girly Girl

Here's baby at her flirtiest. She's courting attention like a minx. The jabs went' fine. No fever, just some sobs of shock. Four weeks until the next ones are due.
Tonight I'm planning to escape Mummydom for a short time and do some WRITING.

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

Good news...

Good news...Morven is coming along nicely, in my head and some done at keyboard too. In other good news baby is waking up more now and talking and giggling and even shouting at her Mum to come back over and play!! She was even flirting outrageouslywith staff in Tesco yesterday so they'd flock round and give her glory!!! Jude raises eyes to sky!

Bad news...baby gets her jabs today at docs. Prepare for some unhappiness. And no story progress.

Our baby loves Queen. (Well emulating the Radio Ga Ga arm movements or so her Daddy claims).

Whizz Bang

Just had a whizz bang eureka moment on my Morven story today. All good...but shame I've no time nor energy to write any of it at the moment. Sigh...

Subbed my short story yesterday - cue hope, hope, hoping it hits the mark.

Read an interesting post on a loop I'm on that says any wannabe who's subbed to MnB currently has a long wait - next year is their 100 year anniversary and they're snowed under with specials and all manner of things. So at least I can put getting a response out of my head in the short-term (I've been limbering up for a dreaded R).

And if you pop by Fictionwise - you can pick up TAKING THE LEAP there now - go buy it!!!

Mummy Love

Being a mummy right now is great. More than great in fact.

Got my all clear from the docs and determined to stop pushing myself and try to take things a bit easier (I'm bad at push/push/pushing for more).
Time to stop and smell the flowers - and enjoy precious moments of watching baby grow!
Eldest daughter has calmed (all hail Dr Tanya Byron - her Little Angels tips are working!)
Baby Esme is growing as big as a prize pumpkin in the run up to the county fair - and her baby coos and ahs are a delight to behold (heart-melting stuff).
And in a couple of weeks time my lovely dh is off work - when we plan to hold a daughter birthday party at the beach, get pro photos of the girls done (some Xmas present pre-planning), catch up with some friends we haven't seen in ages and HOPEFULLY catch up on some much yearned for ZZZZZs.

Bliss.

Passing Through

Feeling better.
Got a lovely pressie today from my Aunty from Spain - a baby bib with Esme Kate embroidered on it ( easily pleased? Yus sur!)
Check out the word worm - it's gone up (well erm I cheated and lowered my target - but I've finished off the chapter so it's not all forgery!) 9 per cent!

Just wrote another short story and hoping it will be liked/accepted etc. Aiming to send off soon.

Went to baby massage classes with baby - she loved, she cooed, she passed out like a narcoleptic on the floor!

Am reading Dr Tanya Byron and practicing being the cool mummy guru of calm 'non-reaction' during intense bouts of four year old 'rousing' tantrums and misbehaviour! It's kinda working, I think. Let's just say the words 'Go to your bedroom now please' said in a zen like tone are featuring heavily. Ooooom!
Oh and Pip's got some exciting news coming up at her blog...doh! I wanna know all now. jx
P.S. Apols to Nat for not being a very good Crit Partner lately (no time) but I'm LOVING YOUR WORK babe.

More Than Tired...

It seems I underestimated the tired thing. It's more than tired, it's achy bones, joints that hurt when I move and a feeling like I want to curl in a ball and wake up better. It's sweating in the night to an extent never experienced before...heck I just thought it was the weather.
So to cut to the chase we've now worked out I have the virus too and so does DH. Thank you Mother. Ugh. Keeping it in the family sometimes sucks.

Dog Tired

Tonight I am DOG TIRED.
This has been the first week with me flying solo with baby and daughter as Mum caught a virus and got time off for good behaviour. And I'm EXHAUSTED. A new kind of whole body tired I have NEVER experienced before.
How did Maria manage with all the Von Trapps??? And she still had the energy to flirt with the Captain and to climb mountains?!? A proverbial wonder woman.
If I get a guitar and dress my kids in clothes made from curtains will it help me manage single-handed childcare better? Please answer no.
Needless to say I've just ordered Dr Tanya Byron's 'Little Angels' book - yep, it's that bad! jx

Sorry I'm so boring right now. Not much give in my life.
But see my wordy worm...it's rising...
As is baby's weight...10lb14oz.
Up, up, up. jx

Hi Five!

It may not seem much...but I've done five per cent on the new wip (see sidebar worm counter). And five per cent is better than none. Thanks to early to beds with a supply of chocolate I'm hoping to keep the pace up - maybe I'll finish half way by Xmas?

Writing Progress

Three bits of writing progress to report:-

  • I wrote the first instalment about hero Eddie.
  • I got paid for my short story that's coming out in Candis Magazine in September.
  • The eEds at Mills and Boon have responded to my email re my full mss missing in action for six months - I'm to expect a reply this month. Erk.

Good show.

Who Loves Ya Baby?

Er...call me unobservant. My hubbie has gone back to work and I'm minding the kidlets with Mum's help 'til I'm back behind the wheel after the op. Anyway - husband observes tonight - 'our baby has lost half her hair - I wonder what it will be like when it grows back?'.

Hate to say it. I've been so busy. Immersed in feeds and all manner of motherly duties. But I HADN'T NOTICED.

Am I a bad mummy? My month old baby girl has LOST HALF OF HER hair (the front half) and I missed it.

And should I be worrying incase it doesn't come back? Paranoid - me?!? Never!

What a Mighty Good Man!

I can honestly hear you gasp with awe at the pics. Gerry Butler at his finest.

And I'm using these two pics as inspiration for my new hero Eddie T - I'm just about to write him now.

What a corker! I'm loving writing this book lots. Who cares if no-one wants it when there's this much fun to be had just doing prep! jx

P.S. I learned y'day that Gerry's fave place in Scotland is Glencoe - the same as me! Could this guy be any more sublime???

Gerard Butler Refresher

I've been checking out the wonderful 25th Title Blog Party over at Kate Hardy's blog. There's guest spots from loads of lovely authors and giveaways so it's well worth a visit.

Anyway - Kate needs an intro to stellar hero favourite (of mine and Flutter and many other hot blooded panting ladies) GERARD BUTLER of Phantom fame. So here's some pics...

Lovely isn't he?

Hello Holidays

Tomorrow is the start of the school Summer holidays.

Shame the Scottish weather is far from summery.

Ah well...no writing time to be had. But hopefully time for kidlet fun. I'm also very excited - just got the two next Posie Graeme Evans books in the trilogy to read (The Beloved and The Exiled). I can't wait! Even better I found some time to blitz write the first scene of my new book, it's called A Man For Morven :)

P.S. The caption to this photo should read - I wish I was getting as much sleep as she is.

Eureka!

I'm excited - just had a great burst of creative juice to get writing a new story! Which is unfortunate because I really have no time right now. Baby is hungry and needs me every spare moment I have while oldest daughter needs me even more (she's going through a little sibling spat which will come right in the end but needs loads of patience, time and love right now!)

However I'm still excited. I can't wait to write. Even if I'm slow and can't devote much time. It's wonderful to feel so driven to get this story down and I'm grateful just for that.

In other news - if you don't already know about them then I wholeheartedly point you in the direction of Trevarno in Helston Cornwall's amazing organic skincare stuff. I've used Trevarno for about six years now after discovering them whilst on holiday. They produce amazing organic and natural soaps and skincare that turned my skin around (I've struggled for years with hard to manage skin and Trevarno miraculously cured its ills).

Anyway - baby Esme is suffering a bout of bad baby acne and when I went to order some Trevarno baby camomile soap there was none to be had. But the lovely people at Trevarno pulled the stops out today and are sending me some especially for the babe. How nice is that?

What groovy people they are.
Go buy some - you won't regret it! In fact I guarantee you'll be back for more.

Pretty In Pink

Here's Esme in her bouncy chair - not bouncing. But man when she does bounce, she really goes!!

I'm calling this post Pretty In Pink because she's received so many pink gift items it's a mind boggler - from frilly socks to frou frou dresses with net underskirts. My baby is seriously vying with Barbara Cartland for Pink Precedence!

Maybe I should dress up in pink too? That would really get the neighbours talking. jx
