Here's the lovely cover. More than nice, huh?

And some blurb to whet your appetite too -

Ailsa Murray knows exactly what she wants for New Year - hot action in her bedroom; she's been boring for much too long.

From midnight at Hogmanay Ailsa's shedding her sensible ways and adopting a new femme fatale attitude. Fortunately she's about to be mentored by a man who would make any induction into seduction memorable, fun and hard to step away from.

Spend your New Year with a heroine who's about to get a personal life makeover from her own very dishy Australian seduction coach.

Trust In Me

My lovely friend Suzanna has a very lovely book out - just released by Ballgown Books this week. Go here to see it and for purchase links. And here's a sneaky taster to whet your appetite.

Trust in Me is a modern romance set in a dilapidated manor house when faced with the prospect of being thrown out her home by a handsome stranger, Rosie Farnham’s solution is to refuse to budge. Never mind that multi-millionaire Theo has every right to demand vacant possession – or that he’s as gorgeous as sin – she will not leave her home just because he’s brandishing ownership papers. As Rosie refused to move out of the Manor, Theo decides he’ll move in. This is no great hardship – even though she’s prickly as a hedgehog, there’s something about Rosie he finds intriguing. Can the undeniable attraction between them bring their lives into a new stage together?

Care For A Cowboy?

If you're feeling the bite of the cold November wind and in need of a little winter warm up ... I have a nice big, handsome Texan Rancher ready to warm your dark nights.

Gabe Garrett is the Texan hero of Secret Billionaire and he's out this month - coming soon to magazine stands at supermarkets and all good newsagents.

Whenever he speaks I still hear Rock Hudson in my head. But he's mighty fine!

And as I fell in love with him first I'm completely biased. Yee-ha cowboy!

To NaNo Or Not To NaNo - That's The Question

Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year?

NaNoWriMo - the initiative to get everybody writing a book in November via a commitment to at least 1k a day - is not only great fun, it had wonderful community spirit and it's an excellent example of how books can be written. E.g. by just doing it! There's no magic, honest! Actually the magic comes later via patience and editing and being unfazed by a dog's dinner draft! But that's another story.

Since I'm on the edges of a new book I figured I would embark on the November NaNo adventure. And then I realised I was ready a week early and by waiting I'd miss out on over 10k so I've dived in and already started.

But I am a huge fan of NaNoWriMo and have done it several times; it's great fun. Hopefully I won't flag halfway through November by doing this solo. Actually, I'm determined not to and to just keep going.

So so far I'm at 9k. And there are tangled bits of plot wool already.

Are you taking the plunge?

My Clever Friend

My very clever friend - Kate Griffin - has just won the fabby ...

Stylist's Crime Fiction Competition! Yus!

Cool eh?  And well done Kate on nabbing prize money and a prized contract with Faber and Faber no less. You can read all about it and see her lovely pic here. Or indeed pick up a copy of the magazine for more juice.

Writing rocks and Kate is destined for great things - you heard it here first. (Um, no you didn't, Stylist told you first natch, but don't split hairs young man and show respect to your elders! - Said in Lady Grantham voice, I am generally using Lady Grantham voice around the house these days, I find it keeps the children in line.)

And in other news Ian Rankin is coming to Dunfermline Waterstones in December. My mum told me so it's must be true.  But I don't care and may  just lurk there in disguise with an umbrella handy cos he slags off romance writing - shame on him (again - Lady Grantham voice only LOUDER and with venom!)

Right enough book stuff and on with the hunky men and jibber-jabber.

Another Book Finished - What Goes On In My Head

I've just finished writing, editing and polishing the current book and it's been hard work - but a blast because it's an old story with a revitalised twist. The writing was largely helped along by the picture below featuring Marios Lekkas. Did I mention my fixation before? Yes; I like to YouTube. Anyway, I'm crossing everything. And this pic sums up the book that I've lived with for the last few weeks of my life:

Special Cake And Pod Lunch

This week was a special anniversary for my Mum and Dad so accordingly a splendiferous cake was ordered (thank you Kingseat Cakes - see beautiful sparkling results below) and a special lunch was booked in secret.

In actual fact - the surprise lunch in question was unbeknown to the special couple taking place in a POD!

And now I want one.

A pod would be the perfect place to write in at the end of my garden! How cool is being waitress served lunch in a pod - answer - VERY! How indulgent is high tea in your own little sofa lined kingdom with a Scottish loch view?

It's just the kind of thing that will need to appear in a future book! Of course I'll have to visit again for lunch - and research naturally...

P.S. Huge apologies to Teresa and Linda who tagged me but whose comments were unknowingly in my moderation box! So so sorry! And I will catch up with your tags imminently - thanks again.

Early Bird

Okay I know it's a little early - but I've just spotted that 'Pitched Into Love' the Large Print version (largely available for libraries but also available for purchase through Amazon) is up as a pre-order already. Yippee!

So if you feel like being an early bird or fancy putting in an order for an ideal Christmas gift (it comes out early December folks!) then what better giftette than a super lovely love story set in Scotland

Only kidding. You don't have to buy it really. I don't know what the cover will be like yet but Linford Romance produce lovely ones so I can't wait to see it.

In the meantime here's a picture to settle for - during the Summer hols I realised that Callendar House in Falkirk is a dead ringer for Jack MacGregor's ancestral castle pile in Pitched Into Love. I took this picture to share it.

P.S. It is only 124 days to Xmas (aaaargh!) Yes. Permission to scream granted.

Panda Party!

Here's a squizz at my lovely daughter's phenomenal Panda Birthday cake. Isn't it super cute?

No I didn't make it. But my very talented friend did.

In other news ... the youngest daughter has started school, learned to ride her bike solo and is rapidly turning into a big girl! Gulp. But between fitness and immersing myself in a new writing project I intend to keep very busy (to stop me thinking too hard about it).

Of course I may stop for a moment to have a cuppa and panda cake!

Falling for the Laird - Cover

I'm very pleased to post the cover for Falling for the Laird.

This is the ebook version of Pitched Into Love and it'll be out soon from exciting new ebook imprint Ballgown Books.

Isn't it delicious? It's yellow and lip-smackingly cute and I'm highly delighted that it's so beautiful.

Weight Watchers Gets Results

Disclaimer - I'm not a big fan of posing for photographs but after posting at The Minxes of Romance yesterday and mentioning my diet (thank you for having me!) I thought I'd post a picture of how I am now after a regular zumba habit and Weight Watchers for four months.

I would usually reserve these for my private diet daily journal (yes I have one to keep me on the straight and narrow!) but I figure I've worked hard to get here. Anyway I've just come to the end of the first journal book so needed to take the 'after pic'. Here it is. Though I'm still not quite at goal.

So far I've lost 18.5lbs. A little way more to go. And I'm finding that I can keep to this plan because it is flexible and fits into my life so I plan to keep it off by following what I've learned (said with a determined voice). And yes I am wearing jeggings (unheard of pre weight watchers - in fact I'dve cried at the thought!) These days they're the comfiest trousers to wear - so I'm a big advocate for Weight Watchers - in a nutshell it's healthy eating, encouragement to get active plus support. I'll post the 'end result' when I reach goal. And huge well done Mum for reaching goal first! Grandma rocks!

The Decoy Bride

This week a very nice thing happened - over a hot cuppa tea, my lovely, talented (should I mention she makes AMAZING cakes and that I must write a book about her - yes) friend mentions 'gasp, I've seen a fantastic film you will just love! I must lend it to you because you will just DEVOUR IT!'

Cut to later when lovely friend gives me her beloved copy of said film - The Decoy Bride. Which is very gorgeous of her in itself because - friend just happens to be madly in swoondom with David Tennant - so handing over a precious DVD is a true pal gesture in itself. Anyways...

She is right. My friend rocks! See The Decoy Bride whenever, however you can. In fact I'm posting the trailer via legitimate sources here and there's even a buy link with it and everything!

It is the best rom com movie ever. And has just shot to number one in my top ten list.

And guess what. I went and got my very own copy this weekend. That's how very good it is.

Thank you lovely friend Linda. Not only are you a cake genius you are a Movie and Romance Guru too! Kudos! And yes one day I will write that cake genius book - and she will be in love with David Tennant and most definitely keep chickens. It will occur. Stay tuned.

One Crazy Cup Cake Weekend

Tomorrow I'm going to a fundraiser Zumbathon. Yes. That's two hours of Zumba. Much water will be consumed is all I will say.

So for the last few days I've been baking for Britain (to take along some token cupcake offerings). It also happens to be littlest's birthday in a few short weeks so I'm freeze baking with abandon for that. Cupcakes are go and the oven's a bit tired right now.

(Note - none of said baked goods have been consumed by my dieting self - brownie points to me, bum wiggle!) But hard on the resolve. Though I think, given my low baking ranking, they look pretty beautiful (said in a Texan accent) why thank you.

So here's the fruits of my labours.

First ... the Mine's A Mojito Cupcake. It features - wait for it - lime icing and mint matchmaker nuggets. Choc rum sponge naturellement. That's a scooby snack for grown ups. Yum!

Second of all comes a sweet treat close to my daughters' hearts ... the Crunchie Choc Cupcake. Complete with a dollop of glossy goo-some choc and crunchie bits.

Fingers crossed all that exercise whets appetites for the hard stuff! Me, I'll just suck on a lettuce leaf and die quietly.

Choc Heaven And Paradise Found

Read this book:

And here's why ...

Chocolate has always been a source of personal delight so when Nina Harrington released a choc-o-tastic title I was keen to read. I've loved so many of her books. And this did not disappoint. It's Nina on rip-roaring sweet and sassy form. I loved blonde cocoa-farmer hero Max. He's a daddy cool and a man with passion and brawn as well as brains. And Daisy the chocolatier was his perfect flavour combo in so many ways; so right from the off you're dead set on getting these two together.

If you're a Nina fan, a lover of sweet romance with an intense witty flipside and a fantasia backdrop of choc chefs and people who love to indulge their tastebuds - you're in luck. This one will last about as long as a box of great chocs as the pages will turn swiftly and satisfy with every chapter. The best part, an intense sensual experience without calorie content. Enjoy! Yum it up.

And if that's not enough.
Read this one too. It's Kelly Hunter's Cracking The Dating Code.
I am still more than a little in love with Seb after racing through the pages and savouring all traces of the most delectable man - Kelly Hunter's rough, roguish, ruffle-able hero is just Mmmmn.

A week on an insolated private island with the most gorgeous guy on the planet? YES PLEASE! In fact I'll have seconds. And I might even read him again just to make sure I enjoyed him to the full. Thank you Riva.

Lighter And Bobbing and Weaving

Sorry for my absence. But I've lost half a stone and that takes work! And patience. And evading the biscuit tin and going out and shaking my thang to shift the weight.

It's a bit like writing. Though probably a bit more active. And actually ... the shaking the thang part helps me work out bits where I've gone wrong with the writing.

So I've been writing again too - where I can fit it in. Which is good!

So how are you anyway?

Colour Me Excited

It's on again tomorrow.

Harry equals yum.

Will you be watching? I will. And I have a pile of 'nil points' snax at the ready e.g. fruit, fruit lashings of fruit and fizzy water.

By the way - lost 5 and a half lbs so far. Though I've not gone as far as choosing a new zazzy bikini I may have hopes of a new dress in a month or so! And let's not talk about Zumba and the things it does to your unprepped thighs. What a week! But I will soldier on.

Nanny Review

Go here to read a good review of Nanny Behaving Badly at Fairytales4grownups!

"This title is what initially got me interested in reading this book.  I mean seriously…Nanny Behaving Badly, couldn’t be more interesting than that ha-ha.  The last couple of books before this were kind of hard for me to get into.  I’m not sure what was up, maybe just stress from school and life, but I’m glad Nanny Behaving Badly was the one I decided on to bring me back to the joy of reading romance novels."  Read the whole thing here.

Slimming, Walking And Scales Oh My!

Go here for news of my latest release! Squee!

Pitched Into Love will be coming out in ebook format soon and I'm very excited. And excited to be out at the same time as the fabulous Nell Dixon too.

In other news, I've been absent for a wee while - apologies. But I've been busy. Polishing my halo. I've joined Weight Watchers and was determined to make sure I made a dent in my first few weeks by totting up some loss.
This week I lost 4lbs. (Takes a bow whilst trying not to show big behind).

Over the past few years I've let the weight creep up and though I don't imagine I'll ever look good in a swimsuit, I'd at least prefer not to frighten passers by.

So. Another week begins. With Zumba and several powerwalks planned into the diary.
And promises to obey my eating rules and regs. Sigh.
Sadly all I can think about are choux buns and cake! Will dreams of donuts ever stop?!

My First Large Print

Just a quick fly-by to say ... Pitched Into Love is now scheduled to be published as a paperback large print book! So excited and very pleased indeed.

Free Kindle Treat Today And Tomorrow

Is your Kindle romance bookshelf looking for some new action?

You can get your eager handy-pandies on a fab read for FREE today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday).

The Morning After by the lovely Sally Clements is available in the Kindlestore now. I'm already a huge fan of Sally's wonderful Catch Me A Catch. So why not go grab your own Clements appetizer?

And here's a pic and some words candy to tempt you :) Don't miss out.

One photo changes everything...
A mortifying incident in her youth has shaken sense into Cara Byrne. No more bad-boys. No more getting arrested. Instead, hard work and good behaviour has earned her a job teaching at the local Boys Secondary School, and a proposal from a worthy man. So what if he doesn't exactly light her fire - surely passion is overrated?
When her friend since childhood, Ethan Quinn, storms back into the small Irish village he left to pursue a career as a Hollywood action hero, she's stunned to discover she's as susceptible to his lethal charm as every woman in the world. And when a compromising photograph floods the media of them in a clinch, her almost fiancé reveals his true colours, CarEthan starts trending on twitter, and she loses her job, could anyone blame her if she accepts his invitation to hide out at his Malibu beach house?
Ethan loves women, but never lets his girlfriends into his heart. He's failed at being there in the past, and won't put his heart on the line for anyone, ever again. But Cara's a different matter - and when passionate attraction is added to his friendship with the one person he's always confided in, he's thrown for a loop. Cara's lost everything, and like it or not, he's responsible. There's no fighting the attraction that blazes between them - but when the month long affair is over, will he ever be able to let her go?

A taster of Nanny Behaving Badly ...

"Lyle strode to the edge of the tub and helped her back out. When he pulled her to his side she was ludicrously covered in white foam and they were inches apart. In stark comparison he was still dry. And so was her mouth when she looked up at the vision of all man poster-perfect body, his well-muscled arms, chest and athletic legs in full view.
Maddie cursed her own impulses when she realised her robe was soaked, hanging open and dripping around her feet. There were suds balls in her hair.
‘You might have warned me you’re into foam parties,’ he said wryly. ‘There are people out there who’d pay good money to watch you.’
‘Shall I call 999?’ she asked meekly.Lyle laughed and it proved instantly infectious, causing her to giggle along as she stood dripping and covered in slippery foam. Nice way to impress the boss, Adams!
‘I’m sorry, Lyle,’ she said, knowing the laughter still didn’t detract from the crimson blush at her own crazy behaviour. ‘I’ve done it again, haven’t I? Like I did in the cafĂ©. What is it with me and acting in haste?’
Lyle untied her robe for her. ‘You’d better take that off for starters.’ Him slipping the wet fabric from her shoulders made her gulp and shiver. She watched as he threw the sopping garment away. Became ultra aware of herself standing before him in a swimsuit like an unruly street urchin.
‘Is saying sorry enough for you to overlook this incident?’ she asked.
‘No. I want to take the moral high-ground for a bit longer. Make you squirm.’ He scooped up a large foamy wad and split it in two, then put it on her shoulders. The hairs on her body reacted to the slight contact. She wanted more. And that would be a very bad move.
Maddie removed some foam from her hair and blew it back at him. ‘Wise guy, huh?’"

Kidnapped And Claimed For His Bed

Welcome today to the lovely Rachel Lyndhurst who has just had a HUNKY and happy new arrival in the form of Kidnapped By The Greek Billionaire from Entangled Press. Find out more about Entangled here.

Here's some scrumptious info and CHECK OUT that chest why don't you:

Or that’s what it feels like to Kizzy Dean when a business disagreement with arrogant Greek lawyer Andreas Lazarides leaves her no choice but to accompany him to the Greek Isle of Rhodes. It doesn’t help matters that this sexy brooding stranger, who is unaccustomed to the word No and the very idea of commitment, shows her what it feels like to be truly desired.

Amidst the ancient myths and alleyways, tensions run high as Kizzy feels an immediate attraction for the man she wants to both ravage and strangle.

Accustomed to gold-digging women, Andreas is mesmerized by Kizzy’s feisty nature and Gypsy beauty. Guilt and sorrow have been his only bedfellows since his sister’s death, but Kizzy stirs up a desire he’s unwilling to succumb to . . . until she makes him an offer he simply can’t refuse.

I wish her all the very very best with it (and with a cover like that I'm sure it'll be a big hit!)

Any Chance Of Some Promo Help?

I'm recovering from a recent hospital op (actually I'm in huge awe of hospitals so twas a great research opportunity even if there was pain and needles involved) My family are gathering round *making dinners* so I'm lapping up the attention. Thank you lovely family.

Next weekend - Sat 25th and Sun 26th Feb - Nanny Behaving Badly will be available as a free kindle download for a limited period. Yey; I'm hoping lots of people take the opportunity to get it.

In this vein I'd love to get the word around - so if anybody can spare a second next weekend for a brief-as-can-be blog/facebook or twitter mention I'd be so very grateful in the hope that it helps people get to hear about it.

Stay tuned for the link to FREE NANNY BEHAVING BADLYnext weekend. In the meantime - I'm on jammies and DVD duty. It's a hard life ...

Playing Catch Up

Well, my 100k challenge got derailed after just a week or so with revisions which had to take priority. However technically I have still been writing every day but I'm not including my revisions work in the total because - that would get too complex for my brain to handle.

Which means I'm playing catch up on the challenge. I currently have two WIPS on the go. This week I'm aiming at at least 2k a day on WIP number two.

So far I've done 23k in total. I should ideally be around the 38k mark. But 23k is still progress, so catch up is doable and has to be worth a try.

A Date With Darling Lyle

I am very pleased to tell you ...

Drum Roll Please ...

The the lovely team at E-Scape Press are very kindly offering Nanny Behaving Badly as a freebie Kindle download on 25th and 26th of February. Cue big yeys! As belated Valentine's gifts go it's hard to beat.

So if you haven't read it and fancy getting your mits on a free copy put the date in your diary now. I'll holler again nearer the time (because I'm good that way).

Why read Lyle and Maddie's story?

If you like hot frothy latte and slabs of something sticky and sweet - Nanny Behaving Badly is a barista themed book with a nanny story fluffy centre and a diva attitude as topping.
Lyle's hot. Maddie's impulsive and a little bit naughty.
Lyle needs a nanny and Maddie neads a break equals close proximity sparks.
Tie it up with an Edinburgh Winter time setting and add a coffee bar launch event challenge bow.

Mister Drool

Whilst writing cowboy I found a picture that fitted the hero to perfection. To my considerable delight (I know I'm sad that way).

So I quicksticks put it on my phone as a wallpaper and looked at it often in those 'help me, I need inspiration, what would Gabe do?' moments. Which came frequently. Actually. By the truckload. The only fly in my ointment? Didn't have a scooby who Mr Hunk was. Today's point of joy - I've found him!

Google is a wonderful thing. Ian Somerhalder. From The Vampire Diaries. Unfortunately canny find a pic of him in cowboy gear and chaps but ye canny have it all, Jim, all Jim, all Jim, ye canny have it all Jim (so dream it up instead ...)

The Cowboy Has Left The Building

My cowboy novel has gone to the editor who requested it. I anticipate a six week wait. I am not good at waiting. But ... I promised myself at the start of 2012 I would mend my ways. I won't waste time moping or grieving the loss of Gorgeous Gabe the Texan cowboy from my otherwise grey January life. Nope.

I will stay strong. I will not turn to chocolate.
Instead I will stay positive and focused.
And aim to get my current 50k target WIP licked into shape (inspiration permitting).

The good thing about having a book on supermarket shelves; it gives you a yearning to prove to yourself that it wasn't just a fluke! So the crows can go peck somewhere else while I sit in this chair and just write.

Everything Stops

I am doing revisions. So sadly the 100k challenge has stopped (I live in hope of catching up since technically I am still writing every day)!
So feel free to talk among yourselves while I jump on my sword.
This one is tricky. It involves a very hunky cowboy who's more than a bit difficult. But I do love a challenge.

It's Arrived!

Pitched Into Love from My Weekly Pocket Novels - 0ut 26 Jan 2012
Pitched Into Love arrived on the mat today! (Phew says the postman who's been watching me strangely!!!)

It should be in shops (Asdas, Tescos, WH Smiths and good newsagents) week of 26th January. Is it my imagination or is there something v Gerard Butler about hero Jack? Yum

Steph Baxter goes to the highlands to help out her pregnant friend Ally and her husband. She doesn't expect to end up battling to help save their stunning movie-style castle hotel. Or  to wind up assisting and falling for its equally impressive part-owner Jack McGregor! Steph's highland adventure brings a tough mission, a hot man and a massive challenge for a woman who likes to give every task 100%.

In the meantime - Margaret Mounsdon has a My Weekly Pocket Novel out this week titled - Second Time Around. Go buy it!

Tiara Out Today!

It's my birthday today (aherm, cough, pretends to mumble how many years). And usually I don't make a fuss.

Today is different - I now have someone fabulous to share my birthdays with in future - Kate Middleton. Yes ... the beautiful, dazzling, chic and gorgeous lady herself.

All these years and 9th Jan was a pretty gloomy time to have a birthday (everyone's in post Xmas hols gloom and the shops are full of sales tat so vouchers have to be lovingly stored and not spent!)  Anyhoo...
Now I'm birthdaymates with someone very groovy. How good is that?! Tiaratastic.

Birthday booty details - amber jewellery (insert 'wooo-fancy yerself' noise); slippers (yes, I get off on slippers and I don't mean the Cinderella kind); pyjamas so smooth I'll feel like a feather on the breeze (yes I get off on soft pyjamas - it's my birthday and I'll strop if I want to). A Nina Harrington book I wanted (yes, yes and thrice yes!) A big book of The Jackie (showing my age - but very good!) And finally chocolate! Cue large smile.

P.S. On the down side Pocket Novels haven't arrived yet. So still stalking the postman - it should be soon though!

Writing Challenge

You may spot from the word worm in the sidebar that I'm currently doing a 100k in 100 days challenge (for more info click on the link above the wordcount bar!) I'm at 11% (of my first 50k target) and it's day five. And I'm determined to do it with a lightness of heart! I'm aiming for slow, steady and enjoyable (sometimes I hare off and run out of steam 'tis true.)

Anyway - just to say I think commiting to a writing challenge like this one is a great way to start the New Year.

News coming soon about 'Pitching In' (and hopefully a cover). I'm hoping that a copy may drop through the door next week (cue excitement) and I anticipate it may be in the shops week of the 26th Jan. Did I mention how much I love DC Thomson Pocket novel covers? Well, I have a big CRUSH on them. They're beautiful and I always look foward to my two titles a month arriving on the mat.

So I will definitely be stalking the postman (sorry postie, I'll try not to scare you - forgive me! It's a writer's angst and ecstacy thing.)
